Privacy

Plain English

BillMap runs in your browser. Your entries are stored locally on your device. Clearing site data will remove them.

Advertising & Cookies

If ads are displayed, Google and partners may use cookies or identifiers to personalize ads and measure performance. Manage preferences via Google Ad Settings and see Google’s Privacy & Terms for details.

Data control

What We Store

Your bills and settings are stored in localStorage on your device. We do not receive or process this data on our servers.

Cookies & Ads

If ads are shown, third‑party ad networks may set cookies to measure performance and frequency. See the “Advertising & Cookies” section for details.

Exports

CSV, JSON, and .ics exports are created in your browser and downloaded directly. Keep backups in a secure location you control.

Your Choices

  • Disable cookies in your browser settings.
  • Clear localStorage to remove all saved entries.
  • Use JSON backup to migrate devices manually.

Data Retention

Because data is stored locally on your device, retention is in your control. Clearing browser data removes it permanently.

Data Map

Local data: Bills, settings, UI state, and backups are stored in your browser’s localStorage.

Downloads: CSV/JSON/.ics are generated on-device and saved to your filesystem.

Third‑party: If ads are present, networks may set cookies to measure performance.

Legal Basis & Choices

We operate on legitimate interest to provide the service. You can disable cookies in your browser and clear localStorage at any time.

We do not sell personal data.

Children

The tool is intended for users 16+. If you believe a minor has provided data, clear the browser storage and contact us.

Cookie Categories

  • Strictly necessary: Site operation and preferences.
  • Advertising: If enabled, Ad networks may set cookies for frequency and performance.

You can control cookies globally in your browser settings.

Do Not Track

Browsers may offer a Do Not Track signal. We don’t alter site behavior based on this signal, but we minimize data collection by design.

Security Practices

  • No bank connections; no server‑side personal data store.
  • Open, portable exports for transparency.
  • We document material changes to how the tool calculates dates or exports.

Bill Details and Sensitivity

We encourage you to treat bill information as sensitive, even if it stays in your browser. Anyone with access to your device could see which companies you pay and how often. Consider using device passwords and screen locks, and avoid entering more detail than you are comfortable storing locally.

Good Device Habits for Bill Planning

Because bill planning often happens on shared or mobile devices, we recommend signing out of sensitive accounts when you are finished, disabling automatic screenshots of notifications, and being thoughtful about who can see your screen when you have statements open.

Using BillMap Alongside Other Services

If you copy information from banking apps, email statements, or budgeting tools into BillMap, remember that each service has its own privacy practices. Reviewing those policies periodically can help you decide which details you are comfortable sharing across platforms.

Email and Notification Considerations

When you sign up for bill alerts or reminders, check which email address or device they go to and who has access to it. Keeping notifications aligned with your current contact details reduces the risk of missing something important.

Your Rights and Choices

Because BillMap stores data locally, you have full control: you can export it at any time, delete it at any time, and it never leaves your device unless you explicitly share an export file. If you're in the EU or California, standard data rights (access, deletion, portability) are straightforward to exercise because the data is already on your device.

For third-party advertising data managed by Google, visit Google Ad Settings to review and manage what Google knows about your ad preferences.
